Katherine Cathey starts as town manager
The September 28 town bulletin confirms Cathey is now on the job. Council selected her in July. Her prior work includes county management in Person County.
Paid parking season ends September 30
The town says seasonal paid parking ends at 5 PM on September 30. Resident-only spaces can still be enforced after the season ends. A 2026 revenue report is expected at a later council meeting.
Mosquito fogging scheduled for September 29–30
Weather permitting, Public Works plans evening fogging west of E 40th Street on Tuesday and east of E 41st Street plus the mainland on Wednesday, 5:30–8:30 PM. Check the town notice for cancellations.
